MV Properties 2021 Wrap Up

December 20, 2021

Welcome to our final newsletter of the year. We still can’t quite believe that 2021 is coming to a close. It’s definitely true what they say time flies when you having fun or rather when you do what you love! Reflecting back on the year that has passed is a way for us to celebrate our accomplishments and highlights of the year as well as prepare for the year ahead of us. So sit back and relax as we take you through the best of 2021 at MV Properties.

JANUARY & FEBRUARY

New year, new beginnings. In January we opened up a second MV Properties office, located in Vathi. In the same month we welcomed Valentini to the team. Cheers to a great start to our 2021 year.

In February the MV Properties team explored the Exoghi windmills as a team build. This was made even more adventurous when the skies opened and the rains came down creating instant waterfalls and rivers.

MARCH & APRIL

In the quieter months when we have a bit more time we love to explore the island. There is always a new place to visit. In March we took the opportunity to visit the Kioni windmills.

The start of spring was the perfect time to visit a few of our favourite beaches on the island. Some of the team were even brave enough to dip their toes in the water.

MAY & JUNE

In May we continued to explore Ithaca with a family outing to Anoghi Araklis Rock, Ag. Sofia (where we were greeted by a herd of very fat goats) and some of the local churches on the island.

June was an exciting month as we added more rentals to our portfolio and completed some of our renovation projects.

JULY & AUGUST

The start of summer certainly didn’t disappoint as we enjoyed some spectacular sunrises. It wasn’t all play and we put Vasilis to work to make sure we got the best drone footage for you to enjoy even if that meant a trek up the mountain in a 4×4.

Peak season was a busy month for us at MV Properties and many hours were spent behind the camera making sure our properties were captured perfectly. We did manage to find the time to do a walk to Rousano to enjoy the sunset as a team. What a memorable and fun day it was!

SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER

Being a family business it is important to us to find the balance between work and time spent with family. We always prioritize the time for a family outing to the beach for a swim and boat trips on the weekend.

October had its highs and lows. The weather was incredible and autumn brought many beautiful, hot days with it. Although the Balos floods in Vathi did create some extra work we got through it as a team and the clean up was definitely a family effort.

NOVEMBER & DECEMBER

In November we were very lucky to be invited to a cooking class at Ambrosia Cooking School. What a great team building activity! We also did a team walk to the Exoghi pyramids. Just another reminder how lucky we are to call this beautiful island home.

And now we get ready to celebrate this special time of the year with our families and friends. It really is a magical time of year on the island and we love seeing all the houses come alive with Christmas lights. Merry Christmas from my family to yours!

As we say goodbye to 2021 we also have to say goodbye to Alexia who has been such a big part of our MV Properties family right from the beginning. We wish you all the best for your new adventure and even though it’s hard for us to let you go we are so excited for what lies ahead for you and that you will be able to spend more time with your family.

We will not forget your sense of humor and incredible work ethic. These photos show some of the very special times we spent together over the past two years. From our sunrise walks to Anoghi to our very adventurous scooter rides, there was never a dull moment when you were around. Your shining smile and beautiful heart is infectious.

We close the year with many new and exciting opportunities for 2022. Roussano Trail
Starting at the monopati (footpath) on the road heading up to Exoghi, you will walk along the ridge of the mountainside. Enjoy panoramic views overlooking Stavros village and Polis Bay. Approximately a 45 minute walk ending at the naturally-formed plateau of Roussano.

Anoghi to Kioni
An easy and pleasant route starting from the Araklis Menir. Following a stone-paved path among olive trees fields and dense vegetation, the route ends up in Three Mills (Treis Myloi) which constitute Kioni’s landmark!

The Church of Panagia Spiliotissa
Take the footpath starting from the plateau of Marathias, in the south of Ithaca. The wondrous views overlooking the southern landscape of the island will leave you in awe and in search for more trails to follow and explore.

Platreithias
A circular route combining a walk in the wild, a visit to archaeological sites and swimming in the sea! Starting from the bridge of Platreithias and passing by Exoghi, where we find two important medieval churches, we visit the fountains of Kalamos and we reach Perivoli beach.
